Q:My tattoo is red and has swelled up, what is happening ?

A: This is normal especially a few hours  after you have had it done. It will swell and become more red over the next day or two. If you follow my aftercare advice your tattoo will be fine. Please be aware that more sensitive areas will swell up more and be more red. Keeping where you have been tattooed elevated will help.

Q: The redness is spreading in one part and is really hot still after a week, what is happening ?
A: If your tattoo is especially red and still hot in some places then it is likely you have a small infection from something getting into your tattoo. If you are worried about it and after 10 days is not going away then you should always seek medical advice. I can assure you that none of my equipment would of caused your infection. Unfortunately it is too easy to get a tattoo infected due to it being an open wound. You should always follow my aftercare advice and not your friends. I tattooed you, they did not.

Q: My friend and I had tattoos done at the same time. My tattoo is taking longer to heal, why ?

A: Everyone is different therefore there are different healing times for everyone. Some people have more sensitive skin and take longer to heal. If you are ill, or maybe becoming ill such as getting a cold this can effect healing time. Follow aftercare advice and you will be fine.

Q: What shouldn't I do while healing my tattoo ?

A: Don't soak your tattoo in the bath until it is fully healed.
Don't go swimming in a pool or ocean until it's healing the chlorine in pool water will draw colour out.

Don't touch it with dirty hands or let other people touch your tattoo.

Don't sunbathe until the tattoo is healed even then you should put high factor suncream on so the colours don't fade.
Don't pick the scabs off.
Keep clothes away from your tattoo when possible, fibres can get stuck in your tattoo which can lead to infection.

Don't use any fragranced soap/lotion on your tattoo whilst its healing.

Do not use any scrubbing type material to clean your tattoo.

Q: Why are some parts of my tattoo sticky ?

A: Sometimes this happens when there is too much moisture on parts of your tattoo from either not drying the tattoo properly or over moisturising those parts. Let those bits dry out and don't put cream over those part to let it dry out. Adding more cream to those parts will just make it easier for bacteria to get into your tattoo so you want those bit to dry up and close over. You may have heavier scabbing in those parts, that's fine just let it heal naturally.
